One of the classic treatments used during the surface cleaning of metals is sandblasting
. It is usually an intermediate treatment, but in our case it is actually used as a final treatment
. It consists of a mechanical process with which the surface layer of a metal is eroded through abrasion done using a fine jet of sand and compressed air.
After this process the surface
has a pleasant velvety
feel and an aesthetically opaque
At the same time, the resistance of the material remains unchanged.
We use this treatment on stainless steel
, but not on iron, to avoid contamination of the above metals, which are more valuable.
