Aluminium anodizing

Aluminium anodizing

Oxidation is a treatment done to protect aluminum from stress and the aggression of atmospheric agents.
In this process, aluminum is covered with a layer of porous, transparent and non-friable oxide (as iron rust can be), but hard and compact and suitable for being coloured. The thickness of the oxide layer varies depending on how the part will be used.

Excellent for light metals

Treatments like varnishing and chrome plating essentially represent a transfer of different materials onto the base material, while anodization is a real direct modification of the surface of the metal itself.
Nowadays this treatment has taken on great importance and it is one of the most effective techniques to protect light metals.
